It should be noted that in September of the outgoing year, three devices of the Gonets-M family have already been launched. Then the satellites of this series were sent into space for the first time using the Soyuz-2.1b carrier. Prior to this, they were launched into orbit on the Rokot conversion rocket.

We add that the tasks of the devices of this series include providing telephone and facsimile communications to subscribers in the radio visibility zone and transmitting messages about the location of subscriber terminals using GPS / GLONASS.
