Total sales of Nioh and Nioh 2 exceeded 5 million copies – the sequel has not yet caught up with the first part
Cumulative sales of samurai action games Nioh and Nioh 2 exceeded 5 million units. This is reported on the official Japanese website for the series.
Calculations include shipments and digital sales of all titles for all platforms. The first part has 3 million copies sold. This figure has not changed for more than a year – Koei Tecmo reported the same amount in January 2020. Nioh crossed the two million mark in May 2018. In the first two weeks of release, shipments and digital sales totaled over 1 million copies, making it the most successful game in the history of publishing in the West. Nioh was released on the PlayStation 4 on February 8, 2017. On November 7 of the same year, the action became available on PC, and on February 5, 2021 – on PlayStation 5.
On account of Nioh 2 – 2 million copies sold. The sequel appeared on PlayStation 4 on March 13, 2020. By December, worldwide shipments exceeded 1.4 million copies. On February 5 this year, the release took place on the PlayStation 5 and PC.
On PlayStation 5, the games were released as part of the Nioh Collection. These versions include all the add-ons and feature improved graphics, support for 4K and 120 frames / s, and faster downloads. Available crossplay with the version for the PlayStation 4 and transferring saves from the console of the previous generation.
Nioh 2 also arrives on PC in the Complete Edition. Among its features – support for 60 and 120 frames / s, HDR, and ultra-wide screens. At the start, users were extremely dissatisfied with the remaster quality due to a large number of technical problems. The creators have already fixed many of them, and in early March, added hints for the keyboard and mouse.
