Toyota is recalling more than 800 thousand Toyota Highlander crossovers

The reason is the unreliable fastening of the lower part of the front bumper (the so-called “skirt”): it can fly off even from a minor impact (for example, when driving over a bump in the road) or simply during normal use. So far no one has suffered from this defect, but Toyota quite rightly points out that if part of the bumper flies out from under the car at high speed, it can be dangerous.

The defective mount was found on Highlanders manufactured between 2020 and 2023. According to a Toyota representative, they plan to recall 751 thousand cars in the United States, and about 63 thousand cars in Canada and Mexico. As part of the campaign, dealers will install modified mounts on vehicles.
