Trials of Mana officially lost Denuvo – only four months have passed since the release

Steam users have noticed that Square Enix has rid the Valve version of the Trials of Mana remake for the digital distribution service of the Denuvo anti-piracy system.

Square Enix itself has not yet commented on the situation, but the record in the unofficial Steam database about the removal of the Austrian mechanism from the project speaks more eloquently for the company.

Following the withdrawal, the mention of Denuvo disappeared from the Trials of Mana page in the Steam store: previously, there was a prominent warning about the presence of the corresponding system in the game.

With the removal of Denuvo from Trials of Mana, the role-playing adventure executable file has noticeably “thinned” – the difference between the new and old sizes was more than 500 MB.

Square Enix has ditched its games from Denuvo over time, but never so quickly: it’s only been four months since Trials of Mana was released. The previous “record holder” was Octopath Traveler ( almost five months ).

Square Enix’s decision was likely influenced by the success of Trials of Mana, with sales of the game so strong that it “far exceeded initial expectations” by the Japanese publisher.

Trials of Mana premiered on April 24 for PC (Steam), PS4, and Nintendo Switch. A few days after the release, Square Enix temporarily removed the demo on PC to prevent pirates from tricking into accessing the full game.
