“ Two launches next year, ” wrote Dmitry Rogozin in response to a relevant question from one of the users of the social network. It is worth noting that the head of Roskosmos did not specify what kind of missiles he was talking about, since the Angara family includes carriers of light and heavy classes.

Let us remind you that today the Angara-A5 launch vehicle was successfully launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, which became the third for the missiles of this family in the entire history and the first in the last six years. Some time ago, the media reported that in 2021 the launch of the third Angara-A5 rocket with the Perseus DM-03 upper stage and a model of the spacecraft onboard should take place.

Earlier, the general director of the Khrunichev Center, Aleksey Varochko, spoke about plans to implement the first commercial launch of a rocket of the Angara family. It was about a light carrier “Angara-1.2” with the South Korean satellite Kompsat-6 on board. According to the materials of the Ministry of Defense, which were published in May of this year on the public procurement website, in the period from 2019 to 2021, it was planned to conduct four launches of carrier rockets of the Angara family: one light Angara-1.2 and three heavy Angara-A5. To date, only one launch has been carried out – today.
