UK charts: Animal Crossing remains at the top for the fourth time in a year

The Games Industry portal has shared information on sales of retail editions of games in the UK from 31 January to 6 February 2021. In the absence of new releases, Nintendo Switch exclusives once again ruled the show.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons tops the rankings for the fourth time this year, despite a 13 percent drop in sales. Next, like a week earlier, is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

At the same time, Nintendo almost captured all three places on the virtual podium: only 52 sold copies lacked the coveted line in the top 3 fitness adventure Ring Fit Adventure.

The most notable release in January in the face of the social stealth action game Hitman 3 continues to fall: the new creation of IO Interactive dropped to 17th position due to a 54% slowdown in sales.

Last week’s only premiere was Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood. The debut turned out to be unsuccessful: the action role-playing movie of the Cyanide studio reached only 36th place in the rating.

Games Industry expects the Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury action platformer for Nintendo Switch to be released on February 12th in the next reporting period.

The top 10 UK retail charts from 31 January to 6 February 2021 are as follows (last week’s result is shown in parentheses):

  1. Animal Crossing: New Horizons (1);
  2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (2);
