UK charts: three newcomers of the week led by Watch Dogs: Legion failed to dislodge FIFA 21 from the top

Portal Games Industry sharing information about the retail sales of game titles in the UK from 25 to 31 October. Despite having three newcomers in the top 10 at once, the leader of the rating remained the same.

Watchdogs

FIFA 21 solidified its position at the top of the charts, losing 24% to its result last week. The slump in sales hasn’t stopped the new release of Electronic Arts’ annual soccer simulator to contain the onslaught of Watch Dogs: Legion.

Ubisoft’s prequel of hacker fighters in the open-world started in the UK retail 54% worse than its predecessor, Watch Dogs 2. However, since 2016, the distribution of sales has managed to swing towards the digital format.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch debuted in seventh place. It is noteworthy that the original game (in the version for Nintendo Wii U) performed 18.5% better over the same period.

The latest top 10 newcomer is the second standalone release in The Dark Pictures horror anthology. The closeness to Halloween did not save Little Hope – starting sales were 47% worse than Man of Medan a year earlier.

Really high-profile releases are not expected this week, however, Games Industry is still expecting an increase in sales due to the quarantine introduced on November 5 in the UK.

The top 10 UK retail charts from October 25th to 31st are as follows (last week’s result is shown in parentheses):

  1. FIFA 21 (1);
  2. Watch Dogs: Legion (new)
  3. Animal Crossing: New Horizons (2);
  4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (4);
  5. Minecraft (3);
  6. Super Mario 3D All-Stars (5);
  7. Pikmin 3 Deluxe (new);
  8. Ring Fit Adventure (6);
  9. The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope (new);
  10. Minecraft Dungeons (7).
