Everything is working
Intel recently confirmed that it will release Rocket Lake desktop processors in the first quarter of next year. They are expected to hit the market in March.
Unreleased Intel Rocket Lake Processor Tested for PCIe 4.0 Support on Existing Z490 Motherboard
They will have to compete with the latest Ryzen 5000, and it is difficult to say how well they will be able to do this, but we do know that Rocket Lake will be the first desktop CPUs of the company with support for PCIe 4.0.
And today the first tests of new processors with such SSDs appeared on the Web. Let’s clarify: we are not talking about CPU performance tests, but about the performance of PCIe 4.0 drives on a system with a Rocket Lake processor, and at the same time, the Radeon RX 5700 XT video card was also tested, which also supports a new generation interface.
The software used determined everything correctly, and the SSD tests showed the corresponding speed. Actually, hardly anyone doubted that everything would work as it should, but it’s worth recalling that PCIe 4.0 support in the new processors will be implemented by the already released motherboards with the LGA 1200 socket based on the Z490 chipset. True, all the leaks indicate that Rocket Lake will be the last generation of Intel LGA 1200 processors, and then the company will change the socket again.
