Updated Samsung Galaxy Z Flip with 5G support is already available for pre-order

Samsung is expected to showcase many new devices during its Galaxy Unpacked online event on August 5th. However, today the company quietly launched a pre-order on the official website for an updated version of the Galaxy Z Flip smartphone, which now boasts support for fifth-generation networks.

Besides adding 5G support, the new smartphone boasts the latest hardware platform from Qualcomm. As a reminder, the original Z Flip was built around last year’s Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, which will now be replaced by the recently announced Snapdragon 865 Plus. This should provide a noticeable performance boost.

In all other respects, no fundamental changes have occurred. The screens remain exactly the same as those of their predecessor. The inner panel measures 6.7 inches. The tiny external 1.1-inch display has not gone anywhere either. The smartphone boasts 8GB of RAM, 256GB of user data storage, and a dual 12MP camera. The front module has a resolution of 10 MP.

Fans of folding smartphones will especially appreciate the cost of the new device. Compared to its predecessor, it has increased by only $ 70, which is quite a bit, given the thoroughly revised filling.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5G is currently only available for pre-order on Samsung’s official US website. The device is sold without being tied to mobile operators. The smartphone is available in bronze or gray. It is reported that pre-order users will be able to receive their devices on August 7th.
