Video: a blogger adds a New York map, ray tracing to GTA V and launches the game in 8K resolution

Enthusiasts often conduct various experiments based on Grand Theft Auto V: for example, GTA’s potential remake: Vice City might look like. And now, the author of the YouTube channel DubStepZz has shared his work. He added a New York map, ray-tracing effects to the project, and launched the 8K resolution game.

In the video, DubStepZz tried to fantasize about what Grand Theft Auto VI might look like. The enthusiast used several modifications at once to transform the game. One of them added a detailed map of New York to GTA V with various buildings, streets, transport routes, pedestrians, and so on. The second is the famous ReShade with the RayTraced Global Illumination shader. It simulates the real-time global illumination effect that ray tracing provides.

Apparently, the blogger used other mods as well. In his video, you can see reflections on smooth surfaces and a color scheme that differs from the original GTA V. In some places, the game is really prettier, which is also achieved thanks to the 8K resolution. And the video does not even show strong drops in frame rate. However, such graphics are likely to please not all Grand Theft Auto V fans.
