Video: Battle Royale Announced … in the Vampire Universe: The Masquerade – Out Late 2021

Three years after its founding, the Swedish studio Sharkmob has shared a teaser for its debut project – the royal battle in the world of Vampire: The Masquerade (the project does not yet have its name). “We mentioned a while ago that we were working on an iconic classic universe. Now we can proudly say that this is a game that takes place in the world of Vampire the Masquerade », – noted the team.

The Masquerade

Vampire the Masquerade was originally a tabletop role-playing game – the series has had a significant impact on popular culture since the 1990s. The games of this universe had strong roots and firmly adhered to the role-playing genre, and now the developers decided to reach an additional audience by presenting their version of the royal battle.

“Immerse yourself in yet another exciting evolution of the multiplayer battle royale, which takes place in the cult classic universe of Vampire: The Masquerade, where vampire sects fight on the streets and rooftops of Prague. Choose your style, play alone or together, fight rivals, and a hostile entity that seeks to exterminate all vampires. Use your supernatural powers, weapons, and blood to become stronger to hunt, fight, and survive in the night. The launch is scheduled for the second half of 2021, ”the project description says.

Vampire Universe: The Masquerade doesn’t seem like the most obvious choice, and some fans reacted with bewilderment to the teaser, as evidenced by the number of negative YouTube posts. However, you’ll have to wait and see at least the gameplay before making a more balanced judgment.

Vampire: The Masquerade Battle Royale isn’t the only thing Sharkmob is working on. The studio’s website says that two more games are being created: “These are very ambitious high-end projects powered by the Unreal Engine. A team is working on one in Malmö, Sweden, and on the other in London. It’s no secret that we love dynamic, interactive, and social environments, so it’s safe to say that these games contain such elements

Vampire: The Masquerade fans are also looking forward to Bloodlines 2, although there is worrying news of development delays and the departure of a  number of top specialists.
