Video: Control will be released on next-gen consoles in February and will receive “rays”

Popular action movie Control from studio Remedy and publisher 505 Games has finally received an update release date for next-generation consoles. The PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S versions will be released digitally on February 2 and physical on March 2.

In the first mode, the game will focus on a frequency of 60 frames / s, and in the second – at 30 frames / s, but it will offer ray tracing. The developers even published a short video demonstrating Control in both modes on the PlayStation 5 (a full trailer is promised later).

The next-generation Control, Control: Ultimate Edition, came under fire earlier this year for publisher 505 Games. Owners of the action game on older consoles were alarmed to learn that they would have to buy the game separately, and there was no free upgrade. This only applies to owners of the regular version of Control, not the Ultimate Edition, which has already been released and includes, among other things, two-story additions.

Control: Ultimate Edition owners will be able to seamlessly upgrade to the next-generation version of the game. Likewise, owners of the base game will be able to play it on next-gen consoles thanks to backward compatibility, although they won’t get the benefits mentioned like ray tracing (and obviously other optimizations). By the way, Control came out on Nintendo Switch thanks to cloud streaming technologies. To run on a portable system, you need a broadband and stable internet connection. There will be no next-generation updates, but you can play without being tied to a TV.
