Video: Deathloop Character Design Features In A New Video From Game Informer
Arkane Studios Lyon Lead Character Artist Jean-Baptiste Ferder, in a new video Game Informer, talks about the design of the main characters of Deathloop.
Recall that Deathloop offers to get out of the time loop in the role of Colt’s assassin. To do this, you need to kill eight ideologists: one of them is the hunter Julianne, who the second player can control.
The Colt is clad in a battered aircraft jacket with numerous small details like badges and patches and has a buckle on his belt, forged in reality by Arkane Studios’ lead concept artist.
Julianne’s design is intentionally simpler than Cole’s – thus, the developers wanted to focus on the heroine’s weapons. The huntress wears a slightly larger jacket than necessary: the reason for this decision will become known in the course of the game.
For example, the rest of the ideologues, Fia Zborowska’s designs, were largely inspired by the famous dance scene from the 1969 film Sweet Charity.
Ferder also mentioned that Dr. Wenjie Evans – another Deathloop visionary – will have some special skill that will seriously complicate the protagonist’s life.
Death loop will be released on May 21 this year for PC (Steam, Bethesda Launcher) and PS5. In a recent Game Informer commercial, the developers showcased a “substantial” part of Colt’s arsenal.
