Video: Marvel’s Spider-Man remaster in performance mode doesn’t beat the original game in every way

Spanish blogger ElAnalistaDeBits posted a video on his YouTube channel comparing the graphics of the original Marvel’s Spider-Man and the PS5 re-release shown yesterday.

It is worth mentioning that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered was shown in improved performance mode, where priority is given to the frame rate, and not to the quality of the visual component.

In this regard, in the demo of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered, you can notice some shortcomings: for example, the absence of shadows of objects (a cup at 8:06) or signs of ray tracing (6:31).

At the same time, the remaster compares favorably with the original game with its support of 60 frames / s, an increased drawing range of objects (0:49), and improved textures (in particular, carpet at 3:25).

Recall that the owners of Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4 will not get access to the re-release for free: the developers explain this decision by the abundance of improvements over the original game.

One of the changes was the transformation of Peter Parker: the hero’s appearance was based not on John Bubniak, but Ben Jordan. The director of the project spoke about why it was necessary shortly after the announcement.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered will be sold exclusively as part of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. In addition, you will not be able to transfer saves from the PS4 version of the game to the re-release.
