Video: Path of Exile: Ultimatum DLC Coming April 16

In addition to showing the trailer and gameplay for Path of Exile 2, Grinding Gear Games released the Ultimatum expansion to the original game during the last broadcast. Its launch is scheduled for April 16, and at the same time, a new league, that is, the season, will be launched. Along with all subsequent ones, she already takes into account the upcoming second part and connects it with the original campaign.

In Ultimatum, players will meet the Master of Trials – the messenger of Chaos, who will instruct players to complete various challenging missions. For each successful completion, rewards are promised, with players free to choose a difficulty modifier. Each next challenge will be more difficult, and the reward will be more significant. However, there is a nuance.

Players can leave with their rewards after each completed challenge, but if they die at any time, they will lose all loot. This mode also works in co-op, which is a nice bonus. Users can overcome challenges together, and one of the companions is free to drop out with their rewards, while the other is to continue the fight. Each player votes on which difficulty modifier they prefer and the game randomly chooses between the proposed options.

“You only live once, exile. Make your choice. The ultimatum is simple: leave alive and with a meager reward, or risk it all for a chance at godless wealth. Each test you take is more difficult than the last, but you will leave with nothing if you fail. Get the reward you deserve. Maximum rewards require maximum risk. Take the Ultimatum, ”says a voiceover in the new trailer.

Ultimatum will also offer the usual improvements – this time, the developers focused on the system of dropping items and also made the bosses of the final act more “profitable.” Some items that were previously exclusive to the league now also appear in the general list. Finally, Ultimatum adds some new skills to defeat enemies.
