Path of Exile 2 release date will be announced this year, but the release will have to wait until next
Co-founder of the New Zealand studio Grinding Gear Games Chris Wilson told PC Gamer when to expect news about the release date and the release of the action RPG Path of Exile 2.
As a reminder, Path of Exile 2 was announced in November 2019. Beta testing was planned for the end of 2020, but it had to be postponed due to the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Wilson, due to quarantine measures, development of Path of Exile 2 “is not progressing as quickly as we would like. ” In addition, due to the closure of New Zealand’s borders, the studio was unable to attract foreign talent to the team.
Grinding Gear Games is currently focusing on making the most progress with Path of Exile 2, with the studio planning to share a release date before the end of 2021.
As for the release of the project itself, Wilson is cautious in his predictions, but PC Gamer confirmed the guess of the journalists: Path of Exile 2 will go on sale during 2022.
Path of Exile 2 promises a seven-act story campaign, 19 new character classes, a redesigned skill and equipment system, and ” much more synthesizers. “
Meanwhile, the first Path of Exile is preparing to launch Expansion 3.13, which was delayed due to Cyberpunk 2077. The addon was named ” Atlas Echoes ” and the release date is January 15 on PC and January 20 on consoles.
