Progress MS 16

Let us recall that the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle with the named space “truck” was launched on February 15, 2021, from launcher No. 6 of site No. 31 of the Baikonur cosmodrome. The flight of the ship took place according to a two-day scheme.

Docking to the Pirs module of the Russian segment of the orbital complex was carried out under the supervision of specialists from the Mission Control Center (part of the Roscosmos state corporation) and the Russian crew members ISS-64 expedition – cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov and Sergei Kud-Sverchkov.

The device delivered about 2.5 tons of various cargoes to the ISS. These include, in particular, 600 kg of refueling fuel, 420 liters of drinking water from the Rodnik system, and 40.5 kg of compressed gases, as well as about 1400 kg of various equipment and materials, including clothing standard rations and fresh food for crew members.

It is important to note that the device also brought a repair kit to the station – reinforcing pads with an adhesive bond. They will be used to temporarily seal the cracks in the Zvezda service module’s transition chamber through which the ISS loses air.
