” The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket from the Progress MS-16 TGC developed and manufactured by RSC Energia is scheduled for February 15, 2021, from the site 31 of the Baikonur cosmodrome,” it was reported.

It is also said that specialists from RSC Energia and several specialized enterprises of Roscosmos have already docked the Progress MS-16 spacecraft with the transition compartment of the third stage of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket. The report noted that the transition compartment is a component of the space warhead and is designed to provide communication between the spacecraft and the nose fairing. It is also used to integrate the cargo ship command interface into the launch vehicle’s onboard control system. After the docking work was completed, RSC Energia specialists performed check-ups of the onboard radio-technical complex and other service systems of the spacecraft.

We will remind, earlier the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the United States announced that the Progress MS-16 transport-cargo vehicle would be launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome site at 07:45 Moscow time on February 15.
