Vivo is preparing a more affordable and less powerful version of the V20 smartphone

Vivo recently unveiled the V20 smartphone, which became the first device in this category to run out of the box Android 11. However, the phone may soon get a “lightweight” modification, which, according to available data, will be called the V20 2021. The smartphone has already appeared in the databases of several regulators and the Geekbench benchmark.

The device with model number V2040 reportedly scored 553 and 1765 points in Geekbench 5 single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. Interestingly, the smartphone will be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor. This is a mid-budget chipset introduced two years ago. It contains eight processing cores with a maximum frequency of 1.8 GHz. In addition, it is known that the phone will run Android 11 and will receive 8 GB of RAM. The device was listed in the databases of the Indonesian and Indian telecommunications regulators, which may indicate its imminent launch.

The smartphone is expected to come preloaded with Origin OS, Vivo’s latest skin. The device is supposed to retain the design of the original V20 but can offer buyers a more affordable price tag. Recall that the original Vivo V20 can be purchased for 30 thousand rubles. The smartphone is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor and boasts 33W fast charging support as well as an excellent 6.44-inch AMOLED screen.
