Wasteland Developers Prepare for New RPG with FPS Elements
Studio InXile Entertainment started looking for employees to create a new role-playing game with shooter elements. Writes about this Twisted Voxel. The publication found this out from the vacancies posted by the company. The name of the project is still kept secret.
According to the announcement, the studio is looking for a Lead Gameplay Engineer and Senior Designer to work on a “next-generation RPG.” According to the description, the staff will have to create a powerful weapon that will be used in a first-person shooter. Presumably, the project will be similar to Cyberpunk 2077 or Deus Ex.
A full list of vacancies can be found on the studio’s page. The search ad for a senior lighting designer mentions a ray tracing experience, while an environment artist mentions immersive worlds.
Back in May 2020, InXile director Brian Fargo announced that the studio plans to start a new role-playing game based on Unreal Engine 5. In September, he clarified that one project is in the works, and the second is under preparation. Later, rumours appeared on the network that the new game would be in a steampunk setting. New images from Jason Anderson and Chad Moore have hinted at this.
