Recall that in mid-January, analysts from DFC Intelligence admitted that the release of Cyberpunk 2077, which led to an almost 50 percent drop in the value of CD Projekt RED shares, could cause the studio to be sold to a large publisher.

According to the president of CD Projekt Adam Kicinski, the studio management position has not changed since the last discussion of this topic: “We conduct our business independently

“We possess all the competencies for running our business, so we do not see, at least for now, no reason to join a larger organization. So we are not looking for opportunities in this area, ”assured Kichinsky.

Kichinsky added that at this stage, CD Projekt RED is striving not to sell but to buy: “We are more open to M&A deals, but, on the other hand, we are actively looking for teams that can help implement our strategy

In August 2018, CD Projekt RED acquired mobile game development studio Spokko (currently working on The Witcher: Monster Slayer ), and in March 2021, Canadian Digital Scapes, which helped produce Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 debuted in December 2020 on PC (Steam, GOG, EGS), PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. Full versions for the next-generation consoles – PS5, Xbox Series X, and S – will be released in the second half of 2021.
