Independent Taiwanese studio Red Candle Games in its microblog commented on CD Projekt’s decision not to release the scandalous horror Devotion on the GOG digital store.
As a reminder, it became known last Wednesday that Devotion will appear in the GOG range on December 18. Less than a few hours after the announcement, the administration of the service changed its mind about putting the game on its shelves.
The reason for such a dramatic change in opinion was the influx of “messages from gamers” urging the management of GOG to abandon the idea of releasing Devotion. Apparently, CD Projekt has listened to requests.

“For people looking forward to the re-release of Devotion, please accept our sincere apologies. It’s not easy to get out of this situation, but we will not give up the fight, ”said the Red Candle Games.
Recall that due to the decision of the administration, GOG suffered another loss: the Glass Bottom Games studio abandoned the idea of putting SkateBIRD on sale in the digital store CD Projekt.
Devotion was released in February 2019 on PC (Steam), but was soon withdrawn from sale due to the outbreak of a scandal – veiled insults against Chinese President Xi Jinping were found in the game.
