“We’ve Failed Many”: Bethesda Game Studios Director Speaks Out Early Fallout 76 Issues

Fallout 76 was not criticized only by the lazy. At the start, the game was riddled with bugs and suffered from little content. Many quickly lost interest in it, and stores began giving away disc copies as gifts when shopping for other items. The existence of many problems in the early version of Fallout 76 was acknowledged by the director of Bethesda Game Studios Todd Howard (Todd Howard). He spoke on this topic in a recent interview with Gamesindustry.biz.

The leader stated, “The plot and [traditional] assignments have only appeared in the latest versions of the project, and I think our designers have been great at trying to tell stories through terminals, holographic tapes and the like. Even though the elements of survival were able to interest many people, we quickly realized that the game does not give our audience what they really want. Fans were disappointed with how the game was in the early days. No doubt we have let many people down

“The team wanted to do something different, ” Howard continued, “ but the public doesn’t always want something different. And it’s not [the people’s] fault, which is understandable. It seems to me that we may have tried badly to tell how much Fallout 76 is different [from other parts of the series]

In the same interview, Todd Howard told about the future of online games by Bethesda Game Studios. According to the head, the studio does not deny the possible release of projects similar to Fallout 76.
