Microsoft has reported obsolete features that will no longer be on Windows
Microsoft has published a list of features that have been removed from the OS or are deprecated with the release of the Windows 10 May 2020 (version 2004) update.
What features disappeared from the OS with the release of the latest version of Windows 10
There are not many features that Microsoft got rid of in Windows 10 May 2020. However, among them is the fairly popular Windows To Go, which allows the OS to boot and run from USB drives. It was introduced by Windows 8 and was supported in Windows 10 until the October 2018 Update, it was recognized obsolete a year ago – with the May update under the number 1903.
The messaging and mobile plans built-in applications have also been removed. Applications will be saved on mobile devices. Messaging applications became useless with the death of Windows 10 Mobile and removing it from the OS is quite natural.
Cortana’s voice assistant has lost a number of features, including searching and playing music, managing smart homes, and some other non-Microsoft products.
Microsoft also outdated a number of technologies and features. One of them was the Companion Device Framework, a library that was used to manage devices like the Microsoft Band. It will no longer be developed.
The old Microsoft Edge browser is no longer being developed; it has been replaced by the new Microsoft Edge based on the Chromium engine. The development of Dynamic Disks has also been discontinued, which will be replaced by Storage Spaces.
Separately, it is worth noting that with the release of Windows 10 May 2020, the company made WordPad, Notepad and Paint applications optional. They can be deleted in the settings.
