According to a previous report from Sensor Tower, the most popular app in October was TikTok’s mobile short video client. However, in November the situation changed and the leadership passed to the WhatsApp messenger, which is owned by Facebook. During the reporting period, the WhatsApp application was downloaded about 58 million times around the world. The most popular messenger was in India, this country accounts for almost 30% of the total number of downloads. Another 10% of WhatsApp downloads are from Nigeria.

Last month’s leader TikTok moved to second position in November with about 55 million downloads. Most often, the TikTok mobile app, or rather its Chinese version Douyin, was downloaded on the home market. Users from the Middle Kingdom account for 12% of downloads, while another 8% of downloads were provided by residents of Indonesia. Sensor Tower’s five most popular non-gaming apps in November also include Facebook, Weather & Radar USA, and Instagram.

Recall that the data published by the Sensor Tower platform is formed taking into account the statistics of application downloads from the official digital content stores App Store and Play Store. In this case, only unique downloads are taken into account, and software products pre-installed on devices are not taken into account.
