Why not buy the first 5G smartphones. Xiaomi does not want to support the first 5G flagship updates

The phone was running MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie. A year passed, but the operating system has not changed, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G still runs on Android 9 Pie. This angered the owners of the expensive smartphone, who created a petition on Change.org in an attempt to force the Chinese giant to update the software in this forgotten flagship.

Sources say that for Xiaomi, this smartphone turned out to be a commercial “failure”. Sales were scanty, this explains why Xiaomi does not support its updates. The phone was launched at a time when 5G networks were just taking their first steps, and many were not interested in buying smartphones with support for fifth-generation networks. At the same time, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 4G has already been updated to MIUI 11 based on Android 10.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G has no hardware restrictions for MIUI 11 and MIUI 12. It remains to wait for the Xiaomi reaction.
