Workaround: Cyberpunk 2077 authors tell how to work around new Takemura bug

In the technical support section of the official website of its action RPG Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED commented on an unpleasant bug that arose after a recent update and suggested a temporary solution to the problem.

Recall that the patch 1.1 released last weekend brought with it not only “a lot of fixes and improvements” but also a bug that prevented the passage of the single-player campaign.

Due to a bug in the “Old Friends” quest, Goro Takemura could not call the protagonist until the recent patch. With the release of 1.1, after contacting the connection, he becomes silent, thereby preventing him from progressing either in the quest or in the story. What it looks like:

As it turned out, the Cyberpunk 2077 development team is already aware of the situation. It is “investigating the problem due to which the dialogue with Takemura does not appear during the telephone conversation

While waiting for an official bug fix, CD Projekt RED has proposed a workaround:

  1. Load the save file created before Vee and Takemura left the Wakako office.
  2. End the conversation with Takemura immediately after leaving the office.
  3. After finishing the conversation and waiting for the task update, skip 23 hours.Recall that patch 1.1 is the first of two major Cyberpunk 2077 updates announced at the beginning of 2021, which should bring the console versions into proper form. At the same time, the changes are invisible to the naked eye.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 10, 2020, on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. The full release of the game on PS5, Xbox Series X, and S are expected in the second half of this year.
