Would have had to make remakes: it became known why Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection will not be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S
Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection will sell for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on June 10. Team Ninja studio head Fumihiko Yasuda told GamingBolt why the game wouldn’t be coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
The upcoming collection contains updated versions of Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge. Fans of the series have long dreamed of a new part and hope that the trilogy’s re-release is a sign that the franchise is not forgotten and may receive a sequel. Unfortunately, Yasuda did not talk about this. But he told reporters about the reasons for the lack of native versions of the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
“There are currently no plans for a next-generation publication,” Yasuda said. – For the proper version of the next generation actually would require a complete remake. We thought about this, but we also wanted the games to get into the players’ hands sooner rather than later. Also, even if we had the time and resources for the remake, we would rather throw them into creating a new game […] ”
Considering how long it has been since the last Ninja Gaiden came out, many fans are undoubtedly disappointed that Team Ninja decided to do remasters instead of full-blown remakes. Moreover, back in January of this year, the studio announced no new part of the series in development.
