WoW: Shadowlands became the fastest-selling game on PC – over 3.7 million copies per day
Blizzard boasted of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands achievements. According to the developers, on the first day after the launch, over 3.7 million copies of the add-on were sold. This makes the project the fastest-selling on PC. This is reported in the company’s report.
This means that WoW: Shadowlands has set a new industry record, beating another game from the same studio, Diablo 3. The latter held the lead with 3.5 million copies per day.
“It has been incredibly exciting to be joining the new Warcraft universe with millions of players around the world. It’s just as good to see players enjoying the new features and content in Shadowlands, ”commented Blizzard President J. Allen Brack.
The developers also said that the time spent by players in WoW from January to December has doubled compared to the same period in 2019. In addition, the number of paid subscribers to the game has become a record over the past 10 years.
WoW: Shadowlands is the eighth expansion to the popular MMORPG. It was released on November 24th. In it, players are sent to the Dark Lands after Sylvanas destroyed the barrier between the worlds of the living and the dead. The add-on was rated positively by critics – it scored 82 points on Metacritic.
