Xiaomi launches new IoT software platform based on NuttX operating system

Xiaomi today unveiled its new IoT software platform during MIDC 2020 in China. She was named Xiaomi Vela. The new platform is designed to unite all the company’s smart devices and reduce the level of software fragmentation.

Fan Dian, CEO of Xiaomi IoT Platforms, said the company is ready to work with developers of different platforms to create the best software. He also stated that Xiaomi Vela will cover smartwatches, fitness trackers, smart speakers, and smart home devices. The new software platform is based on the open-source NuttX operating system. Thanks to this, Xiaomi Vela will be able to work equally well on different types of devices.

In his speech, Fan Dian said that the number of Xiaomi IoT devices exceeds 271 million. 3,800 partners of the company are working on the Xiaomi IoT platform. In conclusion, it was said that the Vela Insider Program will start today.
