The speculation about the development of a sequel to the Mi MIX series emerged on February 3 when Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun released a teaser for the new smartphone. He called it the company’s “most expensive smartphone”. There is no reliable information about the device yet, but according to rumors, the Mi MIX 4 could be the first foldable device from Xiaomi.
Rumors of a folding design are confirmed by several images that have surfaced on the web. An unknown person photographed an unknown Chinese foldable smartphone in public transport, which used the MIUI 12 interface. Experts suggested that it may be an engineering sample of the future Mi MIX 4. The foldable element is similar to that used in the Galaxy Z Fold.
Thus, the Mi MIX series will continue after a two-year hiatus. Recall that the Mi MIX 3 phablet was released in November 2018. The Mi MIX Alpha could be a sequel, but Xiaomi refused to release it to the market.
