Xiaomi will release the first gaming smartphone Redmi – it will receive the MediaTek platform
Lu Weibing, general manager of Xiaomi’s Redmi brand, posted on the Weibo social network about preparing a powerful smartphone based on the MediaTek platform.
It is noted that the first gaming device under the Redmi brand is being prepared for release. It will receive a high-quality Samsung E4 AMOLED display of a traditional flat shape. The refresh rate of this panel is likely to be as high as 120 Hz.
Liu Weibing noted that the Dimensity 1200 processor would serve as the silicon “heart” of the gaming phone. The chip combines eight computing cores with a clock speed of up to 3.0 GHz, a Mali-G77 MC9 graphics accelerator, and a 5G modem with a data transfer rate of up to 4.7 Gbps.
The presentation of the novelty will take place this month. Unfortunately, the head of Redmi did not go into additional details about the upcoming device.
Note that Xiaomi in 2020 ranked third in the list of the largest smartphone suppliers in Europe. According to Counterpoint Technology, Market Research estimates, the Chinese company increased devices by 90% over the year, taking 14% of the European market.
