Only one game available so far

Google has given up on cloud gaming service Stadia, but it looks like they’ve come up with something a little more original. The search giant is reportedly testing online games directly on YouTube.

The initiative is called Playables. It will allow users to run games directly on the YouTube platform, both in the web version and in mobile applications for Android and iOS.

YouTube will have online games. Google is testing such an initiative right now.

The project is currently undergoing internal testing, and Google employees are invited to take part in it. So far, only one game is available – Stack Bounce. This is an arcade from a fairly popular direction, where you need to break horizontal blocks with a bouncing ball, gradually moving down vertically.

The Playables project is reportedly part of YouTube CEO Neil Mohan’s push to find new areas of growth after lowering ad spending.
