A true competitor for AirPods? The long-awaited second-generation Google Pixel Buds are finally on sale

Headphones literally just appeared in the official Google online store for $ 180, and themed resources published their reviews.

To begin with, remember what kind of beast this is – the new Pixel Buds. These are the company’s first fully wireless headphones. At the heart of the headphones are 12-mm dynamic emitters, autonomy is declared equal to 5 hours for the headphones themselves and 24 hours in total, given the case. There is support for fast and wireless charging, there is protection against moisture (IPx4), there is a Bluetooth 5.0 adapter. Google also focuses on the support of the translator function in real-time. The novelty is available in white, orange, black, and mint colors. More precisely, this is the color of the outer part of the case. The inner will always be black, and the case will always be white.

With regard to the first reviews, the resource The Verge highlighted a number of key aspects. The headphones sound good, but they lack little low frequencies, they are very convenient, but still, long-term wearing can cause discomfort, while the passive sound insulation in them is not the best.

There is also a curious feature: the right and left earphones are discharged unevenly. Google said that this is normal since at one time or another only one can be occupied with certain functions, while the software “transfers” such tasks from one earphone to another so that in general their autonomy is the same.
