All PS4 games will run on PlayStation 5, famous blogger said

The famous blogger and streamer Lance McDonald, who releases videos on Bloodborne and Dark Souls, published an interesting message on his microblog. He stated that full backward compatibility will be implemented on the PlayStation 5, and users will be able to play any games from the PS4. Later, the streamer deleted his post, but people managed to take a screenshot and distribute it across the web.

In a post from Lance MacDonald, it was said: “In the past, there was some confusion about this, and I decided to clarify the situation: on the PlayStation 5 you can run all games from the PS4, even those that have not received approval [from the platform holder]. Sony continues testing, but the system will not interfere with the launch [on PS5] projects that have not yet been tested

Lance MacDonald then erased the post and wrote a new post: “I deleted the post out of respect for the platform holder. You can explain it however you like” And then the streamer got rid of the new publication.

The latest official backward compatibility announcements from Sony state that more than 4,000 PS4 games are currently being tested and will run on the PlayStation 5.

The Japanese company is gearing up to release its next-generation console during the holiday season in fall 2020. According to the latest information, the launch will take place in Japan on November 14, and in the rest of the world six days later on November 20.
