AMD decided to carefully prepare for the start of sales of the Radeon RX 6000, so as not to embarrass itself, like some

Not wanting to be in the position of NVIDIA, which completely failed the start of sales of its GeForce 30 series graphics accelerators, AMD has prepared a number of recommendations for its partners regarding the sale of new Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards, as well as Ryzen 5000 processors.

The lack of pre-orders, the massive use of special bots by speculators for the purchase and subsequent resale of GeForce RTX 30xx video cards, as well as a very high shortage of “green” graphics accelerators will definitely be remembered in history as one of the worst launches of a new NVIDIA product.

While NVIDIA is trying to correct the already existing situation by entering captcha on the official site for filtering bots, as well as allowing partner companies to sell reference samples of the GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090, AMD decided to prepare in advance for a possible orgy at the start of sales of its own solutions. According to the author of the YouTube channel RedGamingTech, AMD has sent out a recommendation document to its partners, which provides tips to prevent speculators from buying Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards based on the RDNA 2 architecture, as well as Ryzen 5000 processors based on Zen 3.

For example, AMD advises using a special system on store sites to catch and block bots in real-time. The company strongly recommends implementing a CAPTCHA system that will filter out bots through various tasks that require human participation (number puzzles, pictures, etc.).

AMD’s recommendations are also directly related to the sales itself. So, the company advises limiting the sale of video cards and processors to one unit of one or another product per person. At the same time, the manufacturer advises refusing to fulfill the order to buyers if their orders contain the same delivery address, e-mail, and other information indicating that the same person is making a double purchase.

For the product reservation system, AMD proposes to use an electronic queuing system, which allows you to fix the right to purchase after the product becomes available for purchase. At the same time, AMD advises notifying buyers of product availability by email. The company also recommends that you manually fill out all orders at first in order to minimize delays and avoid the risk of speculators buying goods.

Additionally, AMD advises sellers to reserve an item for sale only after the customer who added the item to their cart has placed an order for it. Another option might be to set a time limit during which a potential customer can keep an item in his cart. At the same time, AMD notes that in this case, it is necessary to notify the potential buyer that adding an item to the cart does not guarantee its reservation until the order is placed.

Also during the first three weeks after the start of sales of new products, AMD advises limiting the resale of products to other resellers.

Time will tell how useful these tips will be and whether they will help to avoid the catastrophic shortage of video cards that are observed with the GeForce RTX 30 series models from NVIDIA.
