More precisely, during the quarter Apple sold 15 million smartphones, while Samsung – only 7.4 million. At the same time, the Koreans had exactly the same sales a year earlier, but Apple was able to increase them by 10%. And now the company accounts for almost half of the US smartphone market (47.1%).

The top five also include LG, Lenovo (i.e. Motorola), and TCL, but they account for only 11%, 6.9%, and 4.0%, respectively. The rest of the brands together occupy only 7.7% of the market, although a year earlier they had 11.1%. In general, the market sank 5%.

Analysts note that in the second quarter, iPhone 11 sales were 15% higher than iPhone XR sales a year earlier. Samsung’s demand for the Galaxy S20 line was 59% lower than for the Galaxy S10 at the time. Considering that Samsung’s sales have not changed, we can conclude that sales of budget and mid-budget devices of the company have grown significantly.
