Apple starts rolling out new privacy feature for iOS users

This year, Apple announced its intention to introduce several new privacy features for iOS device developers. One of these features is that apps must get explicit permission to track user activity. Now it has become known that this function is gradually starting to unfold.

IOS device users can change privacy settings in device settings. In the corresponding menu, you can see which applications have permission to collect information and track activity. In addition, the first time you launch an application, the user will see a request to allow activity tracking, as well as an explanation of what it is for.

The feature is currently starting to roll out to iOS 14.4 beta users. For example, the first time you run an NBA application, a message appears stating that the software needs permission to “track activity in applications and third-party websites”. Initially, Apple planned to launch the new feature along with the release of iOS 14 in September this year, but later it was decided to postpone the launch to next year so that app developers have enough time to prepare.

Now it turns out that the new privacy tool will get widespread in the stable version of iOS 14.4, which is not expected to launch earlier than January next year. It’s worth noting that some users have talked about new notifications coming in iOS 14.3 and iOS 14.2. This could mean that Apple is making the necessary changes on the server-side, or that some developers have started to implement a new feature in their products before its official launch.
