ASRock Unveils Reference Radeon RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT

ASRock has unveiled reference versions of Radeon RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT graphics cards. Apparently, the manufacturer did not make absolutely any changes to the appearance of graphics accelerators. Although, for example, the same Gigabyte added stickers with its logo to its reference models.

The characteristics of graphics accelerators from ASRock also do not differ from those stated by AMD itself. Both cards offer reference values for the operating frequencies of the GPU and video memory.

The younger model Radeon RX 6800 is based on the Navi 21 XL GPU with 60 Compute Units (CU), giving a total of 3840 stream cores. The crystal received 240 texturing units (TMU) and 96 rasterization units. The base frequency of the GPU is 1372 MHz. In Boost mode, it rises to 1815 MHz. The graphics accelerator is equipped with 16 GB of GDDR6 video memory with a 256-bit bus and an effective frequency of 16 GHz.

The older model Radeon RX 6800 XT is based on GPU Navi 21 XT. It has 72 compute units (4608 stream cores), 228 texture units, and 288 ROP units. The base frequency of the chip is 1487 MHz. In workloads, it increases to 2015 MHz. The card is also equipped with 16GB of GDDR6 video memory with a 256-bit bus and an effective frequency of 16 GHz.

Both new items are equipped with two 8-pin auxiliary power connectors. For the younger model, power consumption is declared at 250 W, for the older one – 300 W.

Each model measures 267 x 120 mm. The younger version will take two expansion slots in the computer case, the older one will need 2.5. The equipment of the video cards includes two DisplayPort connectors, one HDMI, and one USB Type-C each.
