With self-isolation, teleworking, and distance learning around the world, laptop sales have skyrocketed. The total market volume surpassed 200 million units for the first time, and shipments are up at least 20% compared to 2019.

In the segment of gaming laptops that cost $ 899 or more, analysts highlight ASUS and MSI. They increased deliveries on an annualized basis by 30-40% – up to 1.40-1.45 million units. It was thanks to the pandemic that such impressive growth was achieved: being in self-isolation, users actively purchased powerful laptops for games and entertainment.

In the first half of this year, the demand in the segment of gaming laptops will be fueled by the appearance of a large number of new models that debuted during the CES 2021 consumer electronics exhibition.

The International Data Corporation (IDC) estimates that 302.6 million personal computers (laptops and desktops) were shipped worldwide in 2020. This is 13.1% more compared to 2019.
