Unfortunately, despite the early announcements, AMD could not keep its word that the release of the new series of Radeon RX 6800 video cards will not be “paper-based”. Like NVIDIA solutions, the Radeon RX 6800 XT and Radeon RX 6800 graphics accelerators are currently not available in stores. Moreover, many retailers did not even add these new items to the assortment of their official sites, since everything is already obvious. The situation, apparently, will not change until at least the beginning of 2021.

By the way, AMD has one more novelty in stock, awaiting its release. Tomorrow the sales of the flagship solution – Radeon RX 6900 XT – will formally begin. But it seems that the availability of this model will be even lower than that of the already on sale Radeon RX 6800 XT and Radeon RX 6800. For example, the largest Swiss retailer Digitec expects delivery of only 35 units of the flagship graphics accelerator. Because of this, the store even decided to hold a lottery – they say, whoever registers on a special site and clicks on a special button on the product page will get into the drawing for the right to buy a video card. The lucky ones who can buy the new product will be announced within a week.

“Today, December 4, we learned that we will receive only 35 Radeon RX 6900 XT video cards in the reference version. The delivery date is still unknown. As in the case with the models of the Radeon RX 6800 series, there will not be enough video cards for everyone, ” said one of the retailer’s representatives.
