And this is strange
Intel Rocket Lake desktop processors are due to debut in the first quarter of next year. They will keep the 14nm process technology, but finally, for the first time in many years, they will bring truly new architecture to this segment. This will be Cypress Cove – the Sunny Cove architecture adapted to the old process technology, which underlies Ice Lake mobile CPUs.
Be careful, not all new Intel desktop processors will be truly new. Core i3 and lower CPUs will get the old architecture
There have been rumors that the Rocket Lake lineup will only include Core i5, Core i7, and Core i9 processors. New data confirms this.
The source claims that there will be 13 such processors. There are no full details about them, but there are names and a minimum of data.
As for the CPU Core i3, Pentium and Celeron, they will belong to the Comet Lake Refresh line, although this cannot be understood from the names.
Thus, there should again appear a rather noticeable performance gap between Core i3 and Core i5, because the former will have both fewer cores and the old architecture.
