Biostar and MSI Unveil Radeon RX 6900 XT Reference Graphics Cards

Biostar and MSI have announced the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT reference graphics cards based on AMD RDNA 2 architecture for gaming desktops. The graphic chip Navi 21 XTX is used, which has 80 execution units with 5120 stream processors.

New items carry 16 GB of GDDR6 memory with a 256-bit bus. The base frequency of the chip core in the products is 1825 MHz, the gaming frequency is 2015 MHz, and the turbo frequency is 2250 MHz.

The cooling system includes a cooler with three fans. The set of interfaces includes two DisplayPort 1.4 connectors, one HDMI 2.1 connector, and a balanced USB Type-C port. The PCI Express 4.0 interface is used, and the maximum power consumption is declared at the level of 290-300 W.

We should also say a few words about the Biostar Radeon RX 6900 XT video card (code VA69T6AEP2). In its characteristics, the manufacturer indicates the maximum allowable frequency of the graphics chip – 2600 MHz, which is much higher than the reference values, but the chip will have to be overclocked manually. The cooling fans can stop completely under light load so that the accelerator does not generate any noise during operation. The fan has stickers with the Biostar logo.

Unfortunately, Biostar and MSI do not disclose the cost of their new products, but in general, it should be equal to the recommended price from AMD – $ 999.
