The novelty is endowed with a CMOS APS-C sensor (22.3 × 14.9 mm) with 24 million effective pixels. The data from this sensor is processed by the Digic 8 processor. The sensitivity value is ISO 100-25600, expandable to ISO 51200.

The camera is capable of forming images with a resolution of up to 6000 × 4000 pixels. Sequential photography at 10 frames per second is possible.

The device received the function of recording clips with a vertical orientation, even when it is in the usual horizontal position, which will be appreciated by video bloggers. Various video shooting formats are available, in particular, 4K (3840 × 2160 pixels) at 24 frames per second and Full HD (1920 × 1080 pixels) at up to 60 frames per second.

The camera is equipped with a Dual Pixel autofocus system, a three-inch variable-position touchscreen display, an electronic viewfinder with 100% frame coverage, an SD / SDHC / SDXC card slot. Canon EF-M lenses can be used.

The camera supports wireless Wi-Fi 802.11b / g / n and Bluetooth. There are micro-HDMI and USB 2.0 interfaces. Dimensions are 116 × 88 × 59 mm, weight – 387 g.

The camera will go on sale in late November for $ 600 without optics and $ 700 with the EF-M 15-45mm Lens Kit.
