Carrier installs 300,000 new Astrova IFE systems

United Airlines has announced it is upgrading its in-flight entertainment systems to allow you to use your own headphones, including AirPods, to watch movies and TV series.

It is one of the world’s largest airlines and has installed 300,000 new Astrova IFE systems provided by Panasonic Avionics on some new Boeing 787 and Airbus A321XLR aircraft.

These systems are equipped with 4K OLED screens and allow you to stream high-quality spatial audio via Bluetooth to compatible wireless headphones.

In addition, Astrova IFE systems are equipped with a USB-C port that allows you to charge your phone and tablet at up to 100W.
