Canon image sensors coming soon to smartphones

Sony is the largest supplier of image sensors for smartphones, and the company’s financial statements confirmed that image sensors are generating a fairly large share of the company’s profits. The second place is taken by Samsung. However, the dominance of these companies may soon be threatened.

Considering how many smartphones are sold each year, it’s not hard to see that this is actually a pretty lucrative business, which is why Canon wants to be one of the suppliers.

Canon has been producing CMOS sensors since 2000 for exclusive use in Canon products. Building on this experience and success, Canon is now looking to launch external sales for collaboration with various industries. Canon’s CMOS sensors are uniquely designed to meet the latest demands.
