Capcom removes Denuvo from Resident Evil 3 remake – immediately hacked

Apparently, Japanese publisher Capcom removed the Denuvo protection system from the PC version of the Resident Evil 3 remake. The pirates, for their part, did not wait for a second invitation.

According to an entry on the unofficial Steam database site, the seizure occurred just a few hours ago. The change is also confirmed by the Resident Evil 3 page in the Valve service – the warning about the presence of Denuvo disappeared from there.

It is noteworthy that for almost six months of the work of the Austrian defense for the benefit of Resident Evil 3, the game was never hacked. However, at the time of publication of the material, this statement is no longer relevant – the project has already appeared on torrent trackers.

It is also worth noting that half a year is the shortest period of time before the removal of Denuvo from the Capcom game: Resident Evil 7 was “released” two years after the release, and the remake of Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5 – 11 months later ( one, two ).

The remake of Resident Evil 3 was released on April 3 this year on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. In addition to the story campaign, the game also includes the multiplayer action movie Resident Evil Resistance.

The journalists greeted the modernized Resident Evil 3 noticeably cooler than the second part – 77 points against 89 (Metacritic). The project is criticized for its transience, cut content, and excessive emphasis on action.

In the period from release until June 30, sales of the updated Resident Evil 3 reached 2.7 million copies. Despite the relative impressiveness of the numbers, the financial performance of the game was far from a record, but Capcom is not worried about this.
