“No, prices for new cars in general are not decreasing; there is no such trend in the market. On the contrary, we can expect that parallel imports will continue to rise in price. I admit that there are targeted price reductions in the industry due to the fact that some sellers have decided to provide a discount on certain models due to the large supply on the market,” Tyukteev said.

It was previously announced that only 10% of cars are imported into Russia through parallel imports. However, the growth of this percentage is limited by problems in logistics, such as high congestion of railways and sea routes, as well as the high cost of new foreign cars.
More than 80% of parallel import vehicle sales in 2023 are from Japanese and German brands. Among them, the leaders were Toyota, Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
