Chinese flexible smartphone Royole FlexPai 2 will receive Snapdragon 865, 12 GB of memory and 64-megapixel camera

Chinese flexible smartphone Royole FlexPai 2 will receive Snapdragon 865, 12 GB of memory and 64-megapixel camera

Royole Corporation rose to fame a few years ago when it first launched the FlexPai, a smartphone with a flexible screen. In March of this year, its successor, FlexPai 2, was announced. True, there were no details about the new product, but it was announced that it would not go on sale until the second quarter of 2020. The deadlines have long passed, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the smartphone never came out. But now new details have begun to emerge about the technical characteristics of this device.

During the March announcement, Royole Corporation announced that the successor to the very first flexible smartphone on the market will receive the new 3rd generation Cicada Wing Fully Flexible Display. Its unfolded dimensions will be 7.8 inches and the aspect ratio will be 4: 3.

According to Digital Chat Station, a fairly well-known insider in Chinese circles, the FlexPai 2’s display resolution is 1920 × 1440 pixels. It is built using OLED technology, but it is ready to offer only a standard frequency of 60 Hz. The insider also points out that the device is based on the Snapdragon 865 processor and is equipped with 12 GB of RAM. There is no information on the size of the flash drive, but Royole announced back in March that the smartphone will use UFS 3.0 memory.

The smartphone will be able to offer four cameras. The resolution of the main sensor is 64 megapixels. In addition to it, 16, 8, and 32-megapixel sensors are allocated. Quite an impressive configuration, especially considering that the original FlexPai offered a dual camera set of 16 and 20MP

According to the source, the battery capacity of the new item is 4450 mAh. When unfolded, the device is 6.4 mm thick and weighs 340 grams. Unfortunately, nothing has been reported about when the device will hit the market.
