Colorful unveils huge iGame GeForce RTX 3080 Vulcan OC graphics card with rotating LCD display
Colorful is preparing to release one of the most advanced versions of the GeForce RTX 3080 graphics accelerator. The new iGame GeForce RTX 3080 Vulcan OC will be able to offer high manual overclocking potential, a very effective cooling system, and also has an interesting detail – a liquid crystal display, which displays useful information about able graphics card or decorative images.
Colorful iGame GeForce RTX 3080 Vulcan OC is equipped with 10 GB of GDDR6X video memory with an effective frequency of 19 GHz and is based on the NVIDIA GA102 GPU with 8704 CUDA cores, operating at a base frequency of 1440 MHz. When using one of the video card BIOS operating modes, which implies maximum performance, in the automatic overclocking mode, the GPU frequency can rise to 1800 MHz and higher.
The Vulcan series of video cards from the Colorful company is rightfully considered the flagship. Therefore, the novelty offers very high-quality equipment. For example, Colorful iGame GeForce RTX 3080 Vulcan OC uses a significantly enhanced power subsystem of the GPU, memory controller, and VRAM itself, built according to the 14 + 8 + 4 scheme. The manufacturer claims a power consumption level of up to 370 W for this model (although at peak load it can probably be higher), so the video card is equipped with three 8-pin additional power connectors.
Serious equipment requires serious cooling, so the manufacturer equipped the iGame GeForce RTX 3080 Vulcan OC with a proprietary solution. It consists of a copper vapor chamber filled with coolant and copper particles, as well as two massive aluminum radiators with six 8mm heat transfer pipes.
The entire structure is cooled by three fans with updated blade designs. Due to the huge size of the cooling system, the video card occupies three expansion slots in a computer case. The dimensions of the card are 323 x 158.5 x 60.5 mm. The manufacturer claims that the weight of the video card is 2.1 kg.
One of the key features of the iGame GeForce RTX 3080 Vulcan OC is the 480 x 128 pixel LCD monitor. It displays real-time information about the state of the graphics accelerator (GPU temperature, GPU frequency, memory, etc.). If desired, the monitor can also display various custom images. The display has a swivel mechanism that allows it to be raised 90 °, thereby making the choice in favor of the vertical installation of the video card more relevant.
The Colorful iGame GeForce RTX 3080 Vulcan OC video card will go on sale in the Japanese market in the coming days. Unfortunately, it is currently unknown if this model will be sold in other countries. But in any case, given the equipment and features of this model, you should not expect an affordable price from this offer. According to the Japanese resource PC Watch, the cost of Colorful iGame GeForce RTX 3080 Vulcan OC in the local market will be 118,880 Japanese yen, which is approximately equal to $ 1135.
